Using The Dashboard
LogZilla documentation for Using The Dashboard
LogZilla dashboards present data in an interactive, real-time view. Widgets are the building blocks of each dashboard. Every widget supports real-time updates so users see the most current and relevant information.
Widgets and dashboards are adaptable. They can be customized to highlight the metrics and data subsets that matter to different audiences.
Key Features
-
Multiple custom dashboards
Create separate dashboards for teams, tasks, departments, or goals. -
Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
RBAC limits access to both data and the user interface.- Data access: RBAC governs which data sets a user or group can view. For example, in a widget that lists top hosts, a user will only see hosts the role permits.
- User interface access: RBAC controls who can manage dashboards, view notifications, use "online mode" (GeoIP lookups, ICMP, Telnet, SSH), run searches, create or view triggers, run reports, and manage tasks.
-
Multiple filters
Apply filters to focus on specific metrics, identify emerging patterns, or remove noise. -
Per-widget time range
Each widget can use its own time window, such as the last hour, day, month, or a custom duration, within the same dashboard.
The sections that follow describe each feature and how to configure it effectively.
